Received an email from a fellow musician wishing me luck in my career and telling me the music business is tough Im so sick of this mentality from people who complain about what a tough business it is. Starting any business is tough 75% of all businesses fail after the first 5 years. Nothing in life is easy besides sitting on your ass and watching TV. Anything worthwhile is tough Being healthy, being fit, being happy is tough When I first started doing gigs every musos opinion was you cant make a living off it two years later Im still making a living off it and more wealthy than Ive ever been! Ive been to Melbourne, Sydney in the last month and Im off to cairns and Beijing for a holiday in the next month! Safe to say Ive made a living off it. So when ppl say the music business is tough (meaning getting on the radio & TV) I get excited about showing these ppl how tough it is and Ill be laughing when I do make it My mentality is to work for what you want and dont stop for anything. There are only 2 possible outcomes in my future either Im standing at the Grammy Awards with my 5 grammies or I die trying. Its that simple! Thats tough Meanwhile I acknowledge everything I am and that I have and fill my day with gratitude. Grateful to be alive and grateful that I have a dream to chase.
