Received the nicest update about a rescue that really pulled at our hearts. This little girl came from NC last summer, she was on the euthanize list, had been abused...etc.. etc... here is her before picture and now pictures, and her story from her Furever Dad. We first met Belle in June after contacting Lucky Lab Rescue. I was drawn to her by the name Belle. Belle was the name of our little dash hound that died about six years ago. We loved Belle very much and could not think about another dog for a long time. After meeting the new Belle it was love at first sight but after talking it over we decided not to foster her at that time because Linda my wife was going in for surgery in July and we would not be able give Belle the attention she needed. Linda’s surgery went well and she was well into a full recovery by October when we received a phone call from Lucky Lab Rescue asking if we were still interested in Belle. We discussed it and decided to foster Belle. Belle suffers from separation anxiety and becomes very destructive when left alone. We borrowed a crate from our daughter and started working on the anxiety problem. We learned of her history and why she has the separation problem and my heart went out to her. She had four humans leave her before she came to us and I was determined to break the abandonment cycle. With the help of a great veterinarian, some inexpensive medications and Lucky Lab Rescue people we have the abandonment issue under control. Belle is a very loving and obedient dog and tries to please us every way she can. Linda is teaching her to do tricks and she learns quickly. Belle and I go for a walk every day and it’s one of her favorite things to do. She loves laying on the couch with me while I watch TV or read and she looks forward to our daily walks. She is a 56 lb wannabe lap dog and tries to get in my lap regularly. She did not play much when she first came to us but now is starting to play more and more every day. On November 30th we adopted Belle and we are one! Belle is in her furever home now!
