He keeps whispering that to me through his word, through other people, through circumstances... A new thing. Dont you love getting something new? Whether its something shiny, something soft, something bright and cheery...its fun to get something new. New things dont have stains, or rust spots, or worn out seams, or faded colors. New things are fresh, unworn, unused.. free of blemishes. I look at my life - past, present, future - and I wonder how God will turn all the old into new. Then I remember, he doesnt even need the old to make new. He creates something from nothing. He turns our failure into redemption, our pain into triumph, but he doesnt need any of it to create the new. Creating is in his nature, it is as natural to him as breathing is to us. This is the God I serve. He delights in creating new from old, because he can, but he also delights in creating new from absolutely nothing...because he can. God is not limited by our mistakes, our inability, our lack of understanding. God is limited by nothing. Today, this year, forever...he is and always will be doing something new. Trust him with your old, trust him with your unknown. God is always up to something new. Always. Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a a new thing! Now, it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:18-19
