Recent atmospheric sounding data along with new runs of high-resolution, short term models suggest that the atmosphere will stabilize (or has stabilized) just enough to prevent severe storms from impacting southern NJ, DE, and eastern MD tonight. While we continue to expect rain and thunderstorms, the largest threat of severe storms appears to be remaining well west of the I95 corridor and the major cities there. Nevertheless, people should keep a watchful eye on the evolving forecast and be alert should the National Weather Service issue Severe Thunderstorm Warnings or other advisories during the overnight hours.
