Recent photos while walking about Fall River. Shout out to John Faria for his tour and knowledge of Fall River.Impressive.!! A big thank you Jack, Joy, and Bill!!! The green house pictured is the oldest remaining house in Fall River on French St..built in 1750.(neat place) Six paneled front door, and candles in the windows have meanings dating back to colonial times. The second house is Andrew Jennings house on the corner of June and French St. He was one of Lizzie Bordens defense attorneys(Notice the gingerbread styling and cut out work of the home) The last is the cover from the steam boiler of what is now Brougham Motors on 8th St. It used to be the old mill of Merit dress, and then used by the telephone company, before the present. There is also some additional bits of salty history of what went on there in earlier times lol. It was amazing the finds in this cellar!! Brass railings that have been painted over, at least 40 solid white marble stairs that we climbed, along with a solid white marbled landing, marbled thresholds (just need some cleaning..sheer beauty),circuit boxes that were labeled with earlier electric companies., and on and on.The owner of the building intends to remove this boiler cover and mount it in his shop. The 99 Restaurant has one, or two mounted on their walls from their building.. Great finds in the Riv....
