Recently, Fine Fine Titans was contacted by a promoter that I had never heard of to play a show at a local bar. Everything about the request struck me as odd so when I asked how he had heard of us and he replied Reverbnation, I was quick to smell the bullshit. When he described the details of the show, my assumptions were solidified. I declined the show and suddenly, Im seeing a slew of bands in the area promoting and begging to sell tickets to play the best time slot at this all-ages, battle of the bands concert that claimed to draw 250-300 per night across the nation. This is nothing new and this is nothing good but unfortunately, so many bands fall for this. Dont let these promoters exploit your talent and hard work. Remain educated and aware and never allow these bullshit contests to destroy or prevent the camaraderie between bands that can ultimately give you better traction in an extremely slick industry.
