Recently, GAO received in several older dogs, some who have never experienced a home, some who have and for some reason find themselves in need of a new forever home. Here is one of those sweet greyhounds who needs a special someone to show them they matter, that they deserve to be loved and cherished in their later years. Senior Sunday Part 1 Sweetums (“Lamorge Sweetums”) “Hi! My name is Sweetums! I want to tell you a little about myself ~ I love treats! And best of all, I can have any treats I want here in Ohio – everyone is so nice to me and treats me like a queen! But let me start at the beginning…. After I was born in November (the 2nd) 2005, I was trained to race. And boy did I race! Over 120 times, always in Florida (Derby Lane then Palm Beach) – a LOOOOONG way from Ohio! Oh, and I really like treats! When I was four, and because I am the daughter of racing royalty (Kiowa Sweet Trey was my daddy), I was retired and returned to the farm where I was born, to have puppies. There I had 3 babies with a prince of racing, Flying Penske, in 2010. The next year, he and I had 4 more puppies together (2011.) Those puppies were so beautiful! Did I mention I like treats? In a year or so (2012), I had my biggest set of puppies – NINE!!! – with BD’s Grayson, who is the grandson and son of two bigtime racers (Gable Dodge and Dodgem By Design). With my puppies all grown and off to live their own lives, and after that big litter, I was retired from being a mommy (whew!) and it was time to rest and get ready to leave the farm for a HOME! I have heard that half of my kids are already in their forever homes and I really, really, really want one too! Did I mention I like treats? The people here in Ohio are so sweet, they make a big deal over me and ignore that I am a little slow walking (all those races and all those babies!) It would be really nice to meet more new people so please come see me soon (oh, and bring treats because I really love them in case I forgot to mention it!)
