Recently, I had the privilege of spending time with some young men - TopicsExpress

Recently, I had the privilege of spending time with some young men and while we had a wonderful time together, the Lord challenged each of us about Staying the course. Simply, this means finishing strong, living our lives faithfully loving and serving our Lord to the end. So we need to be focused and not easily distracted, nor to become so discouraged that we give up. There is no point in you and I going back to Egypt. We need to find strength and courage in the Lord to press on to the Promised Land. Weve come out from Egypt and the Promised Land is our eternal inheritance. The way to do this is found in Ephesians 6:10 (NKJV) ...be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. I recall having a conversation with one of my young men on Sunday morning about this very thing. He was asking about how to be strong, stand and yet go forward. Well, standing is actually doing our part and fighting is the Lords part. In 2 Chronicles 20:15 (NKJV) the Lord says ...the battle is not yours, but Gods. We need to stand fast and seek strength from the Lord, every day, to live as Christians in this world. We need to be aware of falling into compromise and to be unmoved by the temptation to bend rules, tell white lies, (there is no such thing anyway - a lie is a lie) or to become involved in dishonest deals. The Lord requires us to have integrity and honour in everything we do. According to the Oxford dictionary the word compromise means acceptance of standards that are lower than desirable. The problem is with compromise, that when we start, where do we stop? And so we become those whom Jesus calls lukewarm, and we know what is written in Revelations 3:16 (NKJV), So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. We need to take time out to consider where we are in our walk with God. Each day, in our own personal lives is the place to start. Many things in life we cant do much about but our own personal relationship with God is our responsibility and we can make choices which will help us be a good faithful servant and a good ambassador for Jesus. So God bless as you stand strong. Please remember to have good quiet times, read the Word, put on your spiritual armour, take courage and trust God to undertake for you each day as He said He would, even if we arent feeling strong in ourselves. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV) ...My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Angus and Jill Buchan
