Recently I have run into not a few discouraged Christians ... persons who are dismayed or doubting their faith. After some investigation it seems a good number of these folks are spending, perhaps, too much time on message boards and Facebook discussions, meticulously debating fellow Christians over small (or large) points of doctrine and somehow have convinced themselves that there is no one left out there who is orthodox in their beliefs. I can empathize with this. But may I encourage anyone in this position to step back and take a deep breath... to take a long break from internet debate and online message boards discussion (perhaps one of the worst places to be encouraged or build ones faith) and instead spend a lot more time meditating on the Bible, reading classic works of devotion and theology ... and spending time with real flesh and blood Christian friends in the physical world. There are still A LOT of people out there who believe the gospel... really there are... you are not the only one... So dont be discouraged ... hang in there and keep persevering ... God has a clear plan even though everything may look bleak at the moment.
