Recently, I posted the tragic story of the death of Deckhand - TopicsExpress

Recently, I posted the tragic story of the death of Deckhand Charles Barlow Cooper of Hoylake which occurred in June 1918 just off the coast of Northern Ireland. His trawler St Johns was destroyed by a German submarine. Charles was one of five crew members who died. I find it to be a poignant story because many of my ancestors would have known him and worked with him on board the fishing trawlers and in the RNR. I have just taken delivery of copies of the official report into the sinking. Soon I will rewrite Charless biography on our blog called An Imperishable Record in view of what the report contains. It is very graphic and detailed.
