Recently I was asked what was one thing that I wish I knew when I was a teenager that I know now. Its difficult to narrow it down to just one thing because I was pretty headstrong in my younger years...one thing I wished I knew then that I have learned is that I didn’t have to ‘look’ like everyone/anyone else! I wish someone told me that I shouldn’t compare myself to anyone else, because even when I was feeling pretty ‘good’ about myself one minute…It would all go out the window a moment later when I took around me at the thinner/taller/tanner/cuter/prettier girl in room. The thing that I’ve realized now that I’m confident in who I am in Christ is that as long as we are ‘comparing ourselves’ to anyone, we will find dissatisfaction with what we DO have! When I started to realize this truth, and focused on the good in me, (and I mean purposely notice the things that I do love about me) I was shocked by what happened…I started to see beauty in everything! God made me. God made you. God doesnt make mistakes. God doesnt make duplicates. Dont change who you are but embrace who you are.
