Recently, I was treating a client in her home. She had a menagerie of pets wandering about the space, however, one in particular caught my attention. There was a cat, friendly and curious, who followed me around from the time I arrived at the door. It was a frisky, hyper fellow who liked to climb on things, jump and rub up against my leg. When I began the treatment, the cat jumped up on the desk behind me and watched in curiosity. Within a minute of me activating the Reiki energy, the cat went from a busy, somewhat high-strung animal to one who was peaceful and docile. As I worked on my client, the cat lay down on the desk and fell into a near slumber. It stayed like that for the duration of the session. When the session ended, my client looked at me in disbelief. She said shed never seen her cooky cat behave in such a mellow way and was amazed at just how willingly it had been a part of the session, soaking up the energy in the room.
