Recently, Sergeant Kevin Kubitskey became aware of a family in need in his district. He found that a mother and her two daughters (15-years-old and 4-years-old) were having a difficult time making ends meet due to medical and financial obligations, and they were in need of essential items. Sgt. Kubitskey was so moved by their situation, he organized an effort within our Department, the Pima County Deputy Sheriff Association (PCDSA), and the community, to provide for this struggling family. The family was in need of a new couch, so with the help of a discount through Sam Levitz and a donation from the Pima County Deputy Sheriff Association; the family received a new couch. The kids desperately needed new clothes, so with the help of a large discount from Kohls, the girls received essential clothing, from socks to pajamas. The family was also in need of several items for their home. Walmart generously provided a donation towards a new vacuum, a mini trampoline for the 4-year-old, dog food, grocery gift cards, and other vital items. These acts of kindness by everyone who helped, made this familys life a little easier. The mother was so grateful, she just kept saying This kind of stuff doesnt happen to us.
