Recently a Muslim techie was killed in Pune. I am highlighting the religion as all newspapers and channels have done so. The killing was unfortunate and must condemned. The blame was put on some right wing Hindu group whose existence came to my knowledge only after this incident. The news agencies and newspapers are repeatedly sharing this news and projecting as if whole Muslim community is in danger due to BJP regime. Few days back in my home district an old lady was killed by group of youngsters. In this case the communities of victim and accused were opposite to that of Pune incident. Hence news was limited to local vernacular newspaper. No national media coverage.. Imagine the outrage if communities had been same of Pune incident. This biased and communal attitude of media must be highlighted and condemned. This attitude only increases the existing trust deficit among communities. Criminals should be treated as per the law of the land irrespective of their communities.
