Recently a growing number of Muslim friends are posting/commenting that Talibans shouldnt be called Muslims. In my humble opinion Talibans are called Muslim because of the following reason: 1- They proudly claim to be Muslims. 2- Their primary/main demand is implementation of Islamic Sharia. 3- They give justification for all their actions from Quran & Hadith. 4- Their funerals are conducted by Muslim Imams according to pure Islamic rituals. 5- More Muslims participate in their funerals than even those participating in funerals of Pak soldiers. 6- Leading Pak religious & political leadership have declared them Shaheed. 7- Some leading Pak political leaders have declared that their & Talibans agenda is the same, whereas another popular political party has advocated for letting Talibans offices be opened and even them given religious ministries to help run Islamic affairs in a province. Despite the above given reasons, why Talibans shouldnt be called Muslim?? Please give rational reasons to educate us; many thanks.
