Recently a program began airing on one of the cable networks, called, “It Takes a Church.” The program’s main focus is to pair two individuals together who belong to the same congregation. Neither person knows the other in the congregation. Three men are usually selected in order for a woman to make her decision regarding dating. However, the female goes out on a date with all of the contestants. After going on dates, the female makes up her mind which one will make her the best partner. The woman makes her selection according to how well the date went with each contestant. The church wins money depending on which candidate the woman selects. I am in favor of this game, although I dislike calling it a game. Its serious when picking a mate for life; however, I believe that the church should be involved in every aspect of one’s life. Indeed, that is what the church is for and how soon we’ve forgotten how important the church is in our lives! Folks, we should always seek the advice of our Christian brothers and sisters through prayers, responsibilities, and commitments to, The Lord. I value the young man and woman who would seek out the church’s advice and guidance in selecting a mate. Let us continue to pray for our churches’ meeting the needs of our people no matter if it is a mate, counseling through divorce, dealing with the death of a spouse, child, parent and so forth. We should seek out the church in order for the church to seek us out and assist us with the challenges we face in this world!
