Recently opened on the site that was formerly The Goat in Boots pub (an historic Chelsea hangout), Goat Chelsea is a restaurant and bar with attitude. It comprises of Dine, a New York/Italian-style restaurant serving lunch and dinner; Drink, a cocktail bar; and Chelsea Prayer Room, a secret speakeasy. The latter is concealed by a secret door hidden on the first floor that is protected by a code that changes regularly. Inside, comfortable Chesterfields are surrounded by vintage shakers, cocktail books and decanters, and all spirits are served from vintage medicine bottles behind the bar. StyleCard holders get 30% off all drinks at Chelsea Prayer Room (open from 8pm Thursday to Saturday). StyleCard holders also get a complimentary round of drinks at Goat’s famous 1920’s night, Fat Sam’s Grand Slam; this takes place on the last Thursday of every month. Here, the bootleg booze flows from 9pm with electro-swing music and live performances until late. There’s a photobooth for those who want to pose in their 1920’s costumes.
