Recently read an article about a woman who snuck around and found the ring her boyfriend was planning on proposing with--only to discover it wasnt made with real diamonds or gold, after having it checked for authenticity, and later confirmed by the boyfriend, himself. There is something terribly problematic about the assurance and pressure to present a huge diamond ring, upon engagement (or even at all), and I hope the man in the story, at least, reconsidered spending the rest of his life with such a person. Frills dont equate to longevity. A marriage and a wedding aint one in the same.
