Recently, the fifth grade students at Schley County Elementary School were given an assignment concerning community service. In conjunction with Veterans Day, they were taught about different types of service ranging from serving in the military to charitable contributions. The students decided to thank a veteran through a contribution to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of DNR Law Enforcement Cpl. Bob Holley. Cpl. Holley serves their area and he, and his K-9 partner Creek, were doing an Information and Education program at the school when they were presented a check for $200.00 (all given by the 5th graders) for the Wounded Warrior Project. The faculty, staff and students were blown away by Cpl. Holleys knowledge, professionalism and willingness to take the time to share with them. Georgia DNR Law Enforcement gives a shout out and a big thank you to the fifth graders at Schley County Elementary for their outstanding act of community service and for contributing to a worthy cause!
