Recently we addressed using defense mechanisms to make excuses for our behaviour, and I just wanted to add some thoughts to that by interjecting an article written by David Kadalie and long-time servant of the Lord working with Youth for Christ. I am sure this will be a brilliant blessing to you as well. The man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” Genesis 3:12 Projection is a defense mechanism in which we attribute to other people impulses and traits that we recognize within ourselves but do not want to accept. It is denying truth about ourselves and being convinced that someone else is responsible for our situation…always playing the victim, always blaming. After Adam sinned we see a projection of guilt. He blamed God for his troubles, and for bringing Eve into his life. By projecting his faults he failed to take responsibility for his actions. Principle To lead is to bring the best out of others; when you project you express the worst about others.
