Recently we shared a post from the #FIFA World Cup which had nothing to do with football. It was of the Japanese fans whose civic sense won hearts across the earth. By cleaning the stadium, inspite of Japans loss, they managed to come out on the winning side. From the number of likes and shares of that post, we felt that civic sense is not dead in India ; its only hibernating. After which we found that it was not hibernating either, but was alive and kicking among some special people. The Logical Indian takes pride in introducing our members to the anonymous group - The Ugly Indian ! A group of people spread across various parts of India, defined by their motto: Kaam Chalu Mooh Bandh As their website informs us many of India’s problems are because many of us are Ugly Indians. That the reason the streets of India are not clean is not because of money, know-how, or systems. Its because of our attitudes. These people stepped beyond the stage of wishing India would someday attain a better standard of hygiene and waiting around for someone to do it, to actually getting out and doing something themselves. You give us hope. We are sure India will follow in your footsteps and certainly achieve a standard to be envied. We urge all our members, to get in touch with the group, and join or initiate a cleanliness drive in your city. Time for some nation-building people!
