Recently, we told you about our student Ashley, whose volunteer work at MetroWest Humane Society was featured in a video article by The Animalist Vicki Croke of WBUR 90.9 FM. The story caught the eye of Halo Pets (a company owned by Ellen DeGeneres) and Freekibble. They were so moved by Ashleys dedication to the shelter, that they donated 10,000 meals to the cats at MetroWest Humane Society in Ashleys honor. Last week, the food arrived and Ashley was able to see how much food 10,000 meals really is! Ashley was ecstatic about the amount of food that was donated, and told her teacher that she was, very proud of what she was able to do for MetroWest. Thank you to everyone who was involved in this tremendous story of giving back. Most importantly, Ashley, whose commitment to her volunteer work has made her a role model for us all!
