Recently, well, ok last month I decided on impulse to do a last minute audition for the Cinema Makeup School cosplay scholarship challenge. I backed out because I didnt think I was ready for it. I mean I understand its a scholarship to go to a facility to better my craft and learn so much more, and inside I knew I was the right candidate as a cosplayer and SFX artist. I didnt feel a huge motivational push or support. So I decided to wait. I also didnt know when it would start had I won it and then started thinking of all the pressures that were to come along with working and going to school and making ends meet and all that jazz. I have worked hard to get where I am at, but I am not nearly where I want to be. I have much to learn and though I heard some outstanding words of encouragement from folks I barely know associated with the school like, youre a talented and awesome SFX artist and you are already a bad ass cosplayer, you deserve this scholarship, I just didnt feel that coming from those people closest to me. I dont mean for this post to upset anyone but thats how I felt. And this is something Id be putting my all out there for and am currently not ready. But I will know when Im ready. And no one will stop me but myself. So heres to next year! ;)
