Recently when he was talking about evolution at the Pontifical - TopicsExpress

Recently when he was talking about evolution at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, Pope Francis said that “God is not a divine being or a magician, but the Creator who brought everything to life. Really fantastic! I find that I love this Pope more and more every day....not because what he says is radically new, but because he speaks in fresh and bold ways so that people hear the idea again, as if new, as if for the first time. God is not a divine being is really just another way of saying what Thomas Aquinas said back in the middle ages -- that God is ipsum esse subsistens -- the sheer act of to be itself! (trans. Fr. Barron) (So useful in conversations with fundamentalists and Dawkins-style atheists alike!) If you are hooked -- heres a Roman Catholic, Father Robert Barron, talking about this way of understanding God. youtube/watch?v=ak-riGdz-UM
