Recommendation # 4. Last year the mighty Joe Bonamassa figured in my top ten album releases of 2013 with his See Saw album; a collaboration with Beth Hart. Well... hes only gone and done it again! Let me just lay my cards on the table. I consider Bonamassa to be one of the greatest living guitar players. Whether its his solo blues stuff hes working on or collaborations with other soloists or part of a band set up, Joe shines. This year its his Different Shades Of Blue album that sets new benchmarks for other players to aspire to and is his first full original album in two years (hes been kind of busy...). He has secured the services once again of top producer Kevin Shirley and employed some seriously talented heavyweights to play on it. Ill not say any more, other than its MONSTER!
