Recording An American With A Remington in New York City with my friend Larry Gatlin, has been the most ULTRA TEST OF FAITH, EXTRA-ORDINARY, OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE, AND CAREER!! …Theres a lot of drama in the New York version, you can hear the exhaustion from red eye travel, lack of sleep, pushing through. Larry and I chose to let it be what it is, a raw, all emotions firing at once, throats sore, it aint about us kind of recording. There has been an overwhelming request from country radio for this song, and for that, we got back home to Nashville.
