Recovery happens outside of the gym, and if youre not recovering sufficiently, then when you go into the gym, the muscle will still be fatigued - that is going to be detrimental for your workout performance, and that can also make you injured. As a result, I never train with weights more than 2 consecutive days. On the days off, you can do some cardio and abs. Keep in mind that if you dont get rest, you simply wont grow any muscle. Remember, that the key to making gains is the quality of the training, not the quantity.
