Recycling for Count The Kicks is easy and is important to fund our efforts to reduce stillbirths and neonatal deaths. Our recycling scheme has generated well over £3000 in vital funds to date and helped raise a considerable amount of vital awareness. Not only does the charity benefit, the environment does too! HOW TO RECYCLE The easiest way to donate your items is to find your nearest Regional Collector – we now have over 200 across the UK. These collectors collect and collate recycling in their local area and send it off on our behalf. You can find your closest, along with their contact details, on this map: https://mapsengine.google/map/viewer?hl=en&mid=z9NjzhgTxmGc.kGbNOVNO5Wnk If there isn’t a collector near you at the moment you can find out how to become one here: https://facebook/notes/recycle-for-count-the-kicks-savinglittlelives/become-a-regional-collector/685473054850604 Alternatively, you can send your donations to our recycling team at the following address: Count The Kicks Recycling Team 14 Holmer Street Whitecross Hereford HR4 0HS WHAT WE CAN RECYCLE Baby Wipe Packets These can be any brand and packets with the hard plastic opening are perfectly fine. Unfortunately we cannot collect any other type of wipe packet in this brigade. Baby Food Pouches These can be any brand and the lids can be left on. Unfortunately it must be a baby food pouch and not pet food or yoghurt. Biscuit Wrappers These can be any brand of sweet biscuit, not savoury. Individual wrappers (like penguins) and outer packaging (like bourbons) are both great. Please note that it must be something that contains biscuits, we can’t accept things like Mars bars. Tassimo Pods Any pods are great, including the milk pods, and they don’t need to be cleaned. The outer packaging can also be collected. Home & Air Care Products Accepted items for this scheme are cleaning wipe packets, plastic trigger spray tops, washing up liquid caps and used plastic air fresheners. Any brand is fine. Please note that glass air fresheners are not accepted, you can recycle those in your home recycling Clothes, Shoes, Bags and Sheets We are registered with Clothes for Charity and sending off your clothes is really simple to do! They post you a bag, you fill it and they arrange for it to be collected from your door on a convenient day for you! To order a bag, please visit: clothesforcharity.org.uk/charities/count-the-kicks/ Used Printer Ink Cartridges The vast majority of cartridges are accepted, including Brother and Canon. You can print a freepost label here: countthekicks.ink2cash.co.uk/ Used Stamps We can collect both UK and foreign stamps! Freepost envelopes can be ordered from here: fundraisingstamps/ WHAT HAPPENS TO THE ITEMS? They are forwarded on to various companies who recycle or upcycle them. Terracycle, who we send our baby wipes, tassimo pods, biscuit wrappers, home care products and food pouches to, are known for upcycling and recycling items that are not normally recycled elsewhere. The items are made into products like benches, watering cans and even pencil cases! To find out more, please visit their website: terracycle.co.uk/en-UK/ When clothes donations are received at Clothes for Charity, they donate £200 per tonne to Count The Kicks and resell the clothes to Eastern Europe (some also go to Africa and Asia) for affordable prices. The vast majority of clothes that are donated are distributed to developing countries to be reused. A small proportion of the clothes (due to their condition) are recycled. Ink cartridges are refilled and sold on as “compatible” cartridges, helping both the environment and those who want to print more cheaply!
