Red-Letter Bibles were a fad when I was growing up. [regular - TopicsExpress

Red-Letter Bibles were a fad when I was growing up. [regular Bibles w/ red text for words of Jesus, black text for everything else] I had one. But their existence really fosters a false view of Scripture: that the words of Jesus are more important than the other words in the Bible. This is just wrong. All of the Bible is to be red letters because all of it is God-breathed. God did not inspire Luke more than Paul, or Mathew more than the writer of Hebrews. Jesus did not write any of the Bible. Sadly, RLBs have contributed to a false dichotomy that the gospels are more reliable than epistles of Paul. When we read something of Paul that we dont like, we can brush it to the side and say oh, well Jesus didnt say that so I can ignore it. bzzzzzz try again. thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/kevindeyoung/2014/02/28/red-letter-nonsense/
