Red Oak ISD Police Officers recently held swearing-in ceremonies at each elementary campus for Safety Patrol Student Officers for the 2013-2014 school year. These fourth grade students were nominated by their teachers because they each show strong leadership characteristics. As a Safety Patrol member, the student will show leadership, have responsibilities to his or her school, and the school Campus Police Officer. The students help with different duties during the day including helping younger students get to class each morning and help with afternoon dismissal. As school-age leaders in safety, patrol members teach other students about school safety on a peer-to-peer basis.
