So together we sat, On loves halcyon shores, Watching lifes waves, Roll past with the tide, Mortal without, Immortal inside, Soulmate was whispered, Eyes swimming sublime, My heart knew a peace, Untethered by time, She rose to her feet, And started to dance, Lithe moves of her body, My private romance, So graceful and pure, A true waking dream, I was blinded by vision, And beauty that beamed, Her lyre to my lion, Softly then played, While deeply I slept, On the shore I was flayed, For in all of her dancing, Anothers eyes won, Our red string of fate, Then came undone, As I laid by the waters, Lulled by our tide, I awoke to myself, All we had made a lie, Now I sit all alone, By loves sea forlorn, A red string in one hand, The other end torn. - DNH 08/2014
