Reddish North Feb 1981, taken from Lindfield Road bridge looking towards Manchester. A spoil train is filled by a tracked loader while lots of blokes stand around with their hands in their pockets lol. Note the former goods shed and yard, by now occupied by Ashfords, the local timber and builders merchants. The metal clad structure in the left foreground was a creosote dipping tank, well remember the rather pleasant but pungent odour! The fence at the top of the embankment behind it marks the line of the public footpath from Lindfield Road to the station via a set of steps which can just be made out in the distance.
