Rediscovering music from the 80s is making me feel whole in a way. Being a 1978 baby, I grew up in the 80s listening to music that made me feel strange for all the right/wrong reasons. I fell in love with my babysitter when she played me Tears For Fears for the first time - which I subsequently bought (the 2nd cassette I ever owned). KISS Animalize being the first cassette (of course). I remember buying that cassette tape by begging my mom to allow me to spend my allowance on it in an Eatons department store. One of my earliest memories. No matter the genre, it was always about the new sounds I was hearing. Depeche Mode reminds me that my brothers musical influence(s) had a huge effect on me growing up. Always trying to be as cool as my big brother. This song makes me think of my brother Gilles Abraham. He was my 80s influence.
