Redlands Conservancy offers Harvest Hoedown party Nov. 9 Posted: 10/29/13, 5:54 PM PDT | All the ingredients will be there for an old-fashioned hoedown as the Redlands Conservancy’s Parties for the Necklace series continues 5:30 to 9 p.m. Nov. 9 with Harvest Hoedown, offered this season for the first time. The corn is done, the pumpkins are finished, the squash is in and the tomatoes are all put up for the year. It’s time to celebrate with a casual, noisy and friendly party at the barn — bus barn, that is — of the Roche family on Highview Drive overlooking Live Oak Canyon, out where the owls hoot and the coyotes howl. Harvest Hoedown, hosted by Brian Roche and Tracey Stahler-Roche and their neighbors, will feature a groaning table of harvest foods and just-plain-good food, including roasted chicken, roasted vegetables, fresh greens, biscuits, vegetarian chili and chili con carne, and for desert, carrot cake and pies. A full beverage table will be ready for the guests. The menu, like the harvest, is subject to change. According to the Conservancy, this is a party the whole family can enjoy, being relaxed and satisfied with good food, good company and good entertainment. Cost is $35 per person. To make reservations, call 909-389-7810 or visit redlandsconservancy.org and download the order form to mail in with payment. Tickets will be sent out in the mail. The Parties for the Necklace will continue in January with four more parties, including Starshine and Wine on Jan. 11, Academy Awards party on March 2 and the Anti-Lawn Party on April 5. A fourth party is being added for late January or early February and will feature a demonstration dinner.
