Reds in the Redd, yesterday Quartz Creek. With the swish of her - TopicsExpress

Reds in the Redd, yesterday Quartz Creek. With the swish of her tail this female Red Salmon (Sockeye) forms a depression (called a Redd) to lay her eggs while the male guards the nest. The female, depending on the species will deposit from 2000 to 6000 eggs in a series of 3 to 5 Redds. Hopefully in a few years the fry once hatched will return from the sea to do it all over again. Its the Wild Alaska and the people that live here that makes our home so special.
