Redwood Valley High School is excited to introduce Career Mentorship, a new course offered for second semester. Career Mentorship has been developed collaboratively by leaders from Daktronics and Redwood Area School District. The course is intended to provide students a rich understanding for identified career(s) in a professional environment as well as a realistic view of his/her own potential in pursuing the career choice. Students will have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in a profession at Daktronics’ work site. Each student will have a professional mentor from Daktronics and will work directly with Mrs. Beske and Mrs. Carlson. Students will be at the Daktronics site five days a week for one class period. Monday through Thursday the student will be immersed with Daktronics’ personal. Friday, the student will meet to process the mentorship experience and discuss the Professional Portfolio the student will be developing. This course is offered to full-time senior students only and students are eligible to earn one elective credit upon completion of the course. Students will apply for the opportunity to be in the Mentorship course and will be chosen based on their resume and interview.
