Reference the article written by the Kent Biker who was involved in a Car versus Bike at the weekend, some responses are shall we say a little less than forgiving regarding the driver of the car with this in mind.... I have to ask the question is it really good that he driver is being charged, I m not saying that he may not deserve to be but we dont know the facts and maybe he isnt a hardened career criminal, Biker hating terrorist? Maybe hes someones Dad, Grandad or loving husband who has no hard feelings towards Bikers and has never had an accident before, God forbid...maybe HES a Biker! It seems we are so quick in this society to demand vengeful retribution and assume the worst of every driver whilst perhaps not always looking within or at our own failings. 99.9 % of drivers are decent law abiding citizens who do not set out on a journey determined to wipe out as many of us as they can, one massive trait they have in common with us though is that they are are also Human Beings with the attached tendency to occasionally fail at tasks...like driving. Whilst some form of awareness training may be in order I question whether we should go to our seemingly in built default Biker Setting of Bloody Car Drivers, hang em all! without at first finding out WHY the error occured and was it deliberate or a mistake? If the former then fine hang em high (metaphor) but if the latter lets deal with why and how can we help them? Just my opinion like. ;) Jim
