Reflecting is good for the soul because there are always reasons to be thankful. A few years back I had surgery in Oct., followed by healing and then thirty five trips for radiation. This year a dear friend travels the same road except she will have chemo. All doctors treat according to the patient and sometimes different. Instead of chemo I take the chemo pill for five years. I remember when Bobs mother had thirty five treatments of chemo, strong harsh treatments (I dont think treatments are that strong now) and being the strong willed woman she was, she always wanted to go home sit in her chair. So we would wrap the soft green blanket around her and check on her every hour. She was a strong willed woman and I believe that helped her through. This friend is strong and we all are rooting for her and prayers go up daily! She has brightened our lives! Friendship is a marvelous gift. We laugh and say ours, in miles span the states, you know as the song says, from the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee across the plains of Texas from sea to shining sea, but in our hearts they fill one huge satisfying spot! They pray for you when you are sick, call when you are down and when they visit pick up as though together yesterday! As we go into a new year, what better gift to add to health and happiness, a good friend and more than one, we are all blessed! I leave you with a verse to Lee Greenwoods song. I thank my lucky stars to be living here today cause the flag still stands for freedom and they cant take that away, and Im proud to be an American where at least I know Im free and I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. I love this land. God bless the USA. May we remember our rights are threatened and we must strive to keep our Country in our prayers and do what is our privilege, as we hope the small part we are allowed to play will make a difference, for the forces of evil and unrest are alive and well in our land. God bless you in the new year. Rest well and goodnight! Thank you for this privilege of communicating!
