Reflection of Todays Gospel ‘Those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit will never have forgiveness, but will be guilty of an everlasting sin.’ A puzzling saying. Does the Lord of mercy ever deny that he is merciful? Let us recall this: those who are ill remain ill if they do not acknowledge that they are ill. As Jesus shows us in the story of the two men who went to pray, the man who confessed that he was a sinner became free from sin whereas the man who closed his eyes to his sinful state remained in it. It is so easy to deceive oneself. How often do I look over my daily life and examine my conduct? Am I living blindly, merrily thinking that all is well with me?
