Chris Slattery Emma Dorrell ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh, to pull someone through that barrier and into your soul; past the defenses, past the anger, and into the pool of love forgotten and tepid at your core. To let them wash their dirty feet in this pool without allowing it to spoil. Don’t you ask me, what all this pain is for… Perhaps one day we’ll learn to live together, nesting in our shores but there is nothing here today. Nothing left for me to save. All I can do is walk away, and hope tomorrow comes today. There is nothing in this moment. There is nothing in my life. All is empty, all is quiet. Since, I have no rest from spite. My whole mind will break the silence. Screaming, raging as a storm. But today there is calmness, as I think of what comes forth. Please believe I have some feelings; please believe my heart lives on. Even if all time is stopping, even if I’m standing still. Deep down a heart is beating. One day it will thunder up and on. But for now, it makes a whimper, and it’s good enough to live, maybe one day life will call me; up and to something more. Perhaps I can be that call. Perhaps I can find my own souls call and give it the breath to call forth my ambition, my passion, and my love once again. Maybe I can still be someone.
