Reflections On Grace: 1. When we know grace we enter into rest! 2. The law, which came through Moses, emphasized on works while Christ came to establish grace; unmerited favor! 3. The first work of grace is salvation! In Genesis 8 Noah found favor with God and he and his family were saved. 4. Religion is a product of works and law! Salvation is a work of grace! The tragedy of religion is reliance on good works and being well behaved outside of Christ in whom all grace abounds and in whom is salvation. Consequently grace saves from works! 5. God is perfect hence with an imperfect man He can only lower Himself to relate with us by favor; through grace! We relate with God by favor! He has never put His trust in a man and curiously He has found error in angels. So to both men and angels God relates to us by grace (unmerited favor). 6. Grace is when good things are bestowed to undeserving people! The foundations of many relationships is to reciprocate good for good and bad for bad! Yet even for a good man no one can die for them. Forget the fanatical south Africans and other Africans who are saying they wish they can die on behalf of Mandela! They are lying!! Only Christ demonstrated true love and grace by dying for the sinful and condemned us! 7. A third aspect of grace is to teach us to say no to sin! Do not be deceived by the watered down doctrines of grace that give room for people to toy with sin! Anyone who lives by grace always bears a witness that prompts say “no to unrighteousness” . . . Have a grace filled week!
