Reflections of yesterday..,, I am thankful and grateful that I was able to be part of such a wonderful event of bringing toys and gifts and necessities to the dogs at the Elizabeth & Brooklyn Shelter, however reflections of yesterday just made me want to post this with a heavy heart ...in Rescue I think we always need to be taking inventory of our surroundings, it can be a chaotic a job and can be emotionally taxing, I think we need to be mindful of when our position in rescue becomes too much. There does come a time where it can appear dysfunctional, when you no longer care about a eight-year-old girl, and leave her on a main road in the center of Brooklyn out of sight from you or any shelter personnel or volunteer, in a running car, for over an hour while you go inside the shelter to look at the dogs and isolation and adoption & to help me hand out my donations from me & Santa. This situation yesterday made me so uncomfortable and it just really went down from there....it just made me want to post that we should always be aware of our actions & making priority judgements...I will always speak up for animals & children if I feel that they are not being treated right & are put in a dangerous circumstance. I am a mandated reporter (a registered nurse) so anyways it my duty ...irresponsibility in rescue is hard to tolerate ...I guess it bothered me as a parent and really disturbed me ...those of you who know me and have now been following me for a few years know that when you meet me & take donations or goodies or anything like that, I am humble, I dont post things all over the media, I am not looking for recognition, the animals being safe & happy are enough for me...I like to keep things simple & uncomplicated & absolutely hate drama...I had no choice but to speak up in this case ...none & if that offended some people I am truly sorry but I would do it again today if it happened ...
