Regarding El Quixote by Julio Iglesias that I posted a bit ago, I found this instrumental with its history: Musical composer, conductor and arranger Rafael Ferro composed over 300 songs many of which became international hits for Julio Iglesias. Rafael worked with Julio Iglesias, both in studio and on stage since the very beginning of Julios career. He toured with Julio for over 4 decades, and yet he always remained behind the scenes throughout. Extremely humble, down to earth and a master at his craft. Rafael passed away of heart complications in the summer of 2010. He was 67 years old. Music is often defined as organized sound arranged in time. Rafaels style of playing single notes with perfect timing, defines music in its true sense of the word. This piece, Quijote, was especially composed and written for Julio Iglesias. The song is based on the novel by Cervantes, Don Quijote, relating the character to that of Julios. This song is often performed as the opening number in his concerts. In this very personal song, he convinces himself of being a Don Quijote, rather than a Don Juan. A character who dreams through the eyes of a child, while searching for freedom and his love, Dulcinea.
