Regarding MVAs where livestock is involved: Public Servant News Network Port Elizabeth is here to assist you: Meryl Angela Duncan: A key component in successfully suing animal owners for damages incurred rests with having hard evidence. I was instrumental in helping my sister (Her husband was killed on impact - she had the same neck break as Christopher Reeve) She sued the owner of a whole herd of cattle which were on the Port Alfred road because the fences were not maintained. The very next day, early I had photos taken of the scene and the fences, The day after when more photos were taken, the fences where mysteriously brand new and intact! Legal history was made as the first successful case against negligent animal owners. Good Luck and keep those cameras clicking.. Facebook/TrafficPE : Another bit of advice when the owner does not accept responsibility for the animal: Zanele Ntsila: Next time someone hits a cow. If you can make a call gather your friends with bakkies to come & pick up the cows that are roaming near the scene and take them home and then see who comes forward. if not, sell them and see who accuses you of stealing. Only way people will take better care of their live stock *Public Servant*
