Regarding Rumor on Hostel Facilities for 9(b) Students - ALL 9(b) Research Scholars will continue with their hostels In last two - three days SFI has launched a vicious and very confusing campaign regarding hostel facilities of 9(b) research scholars. On behalf of JNUSU, we would like to state the fact - there is no point that administration will deny hostel facilities of 9(b) students. As we have earlier reported this proposal came in the IHA meeting on 3rd February, and successfully resisted by JNUSU and Hostel Presidents. SFI has desperately and consciously hyped the new circular to create confusions among student community. The circular says the hostel accommodation of 9(b) students will be conditional and on merit of each case. This means - 1. Research scholars who have got 9(b), are requested to submit their 9(b) registration folio before 1st September, 2014. 2. Those who are waiting for their viva for 9(b) are requested to submit a letter from respective centre stating their status before 1st September, 2014. 3. Those who have already availed 7 years of stay in hostel in M Phil/PhD (because of zero year etc), but yet to submit, has to vacate their hostels. All these are old rules regarding hostel facilities of 9(b) research scholars. We warn SFI not to create panic and confusion among student community for cheap pre- election stunts.
