Regarding joint effort of Nepal & India in hydropower project development in Nepalese rivers, choice of most feasible low cost projects and negotiation with India for investment and/or power trade, involves extensive engineering study as well as financial & economic analysis, detailed study of legal aspects, especially with regards to international norms & rules in water sharing etc. So, my personal opinion is that Nepal Government should hire a globally reputed international consulting company, who will assist Nepalese negotiators to talk with Indian teams. That way all genuinely concerned citizens or some politically motivated persons/ experts/ groups/ parties, if any, who oppose or blame ruling government at any point of time, could be convinced by arguments from those consultants with all calculations, analysis, data and legal viewpoints that the proposed deal or agreement or treaty with India is going to be a win-win one.
