Regarding the recent loud bang post recently deleted: Several people in the Orangeville area have reported seeing a white flash in the sky along with a loud bang. There is nothing being reported by hydro, police or fire. There is nothing to be concerned with from a safety point of view. However we are at the tail end of a unique astrological event involving thousands of meteors. It is possible, although nothing has been confirmed, that the sound and what has been reported by some is consistent with a meteor. A large impact would register on seismic detectors. The United States Geological Survey (that has worldwide monitoring) is reporting no significant seismic activity in this region. If it was a meteor it most likely burned up on reentry. Traveling at 12 miles a second, meteors of size rarely hit the earth. Impacting the atmosphere at such a fast speed literally vaporizes most. Again, this is speculation at this point. Here is an article you may find interesting, even though nothing has been confirmed. rt/news/161608-new-meteor-shower-camelopardalid/
