Regardless of what your thoughts are about this situation, to stifle thought in schools is just plain Un-American. If kids can not discuss race issues in school, how do we expect them to live in a multi-cultural society? Part of being a democratic society is having civil discourse. If your response is that this topic does not create civil discourse my response would be simple: if they cant be taught how to have civil discourse in school then when will they ever learn? Add this to the mounting issues of our crumbling Education system.
