Regex nerds: Im trying to sort all these thousands of emails I have saved. I saved them from Thunderbird and it gave them names with a set up like Subject with spaces and all - Sender Name - YYYY-MM-DD somenumber.eml and Im running into the fun differences between the shell expanding filenames before parsing and what not and barfing on embedded spaces, etc. Somehow mv *2001-*.eml 2001 worked but it wont with 2002. It worked for other years, but didnt when I jumped to 2014 to clear out a large number of files. In the end Id like to have them sorted into per-year folders and inside those per-month. Do I need to figure out a script or is there a one-liner I can try from the CLI?
