Reggio-inspired schools, Salt Meadow Academy, a small Reggio-inspired preschool and child care located in Clinton, CT USA, needs your help! A new project is evolving - a simple provocation of colorful threads, ribbons and yarns presented around two beautiful branches is becoming something much bigger than even the school staff could have anticipated. The children themselves suggested the possibility of obtaining ribbons from other schools because we are all connected! Please consider sending a ribbon from you school to the children at Salt Meadow Academy! Beautiful strings are symbolic of the children and parents that pass through the doors [of our school]. Each string is unique (color, diameter, length, and texture) and they continue to retain their individuality, but these singular strings become a portion of a much bigger picture, a community. Our students all start as single strands entering and they depart (still as unique individuals) interwoven and entwined with the knowledge,friendships, and experiences that they’ve explored together.
